New Technology

Manipal Ankur believes in treating patients with the finest and latest technologies.

  • Embryoscope

Embryoscope, a break-through technology in the field of ART (Assisted Reproduction Technology), is now available at Manipal Ankur Andrology and Reproductive Services (MARS). The technology promises added safety and potentially increases the chances of conceiving since it creates a safe environment for embryo development. It also assists in instant and constant monitoring of embryonic growth which helps ensure the safe, controlled development of the embryo.

What is Embryoscope? The Embryoscope is the most technologically advanced device available today that allows ART specialists to study the development of an embryo without removing them from their incubator, minimizing risk and allowing the embryo to develop in a healthy, stable environment. The technology integrates a multi-gas incubator, a microscope and a time-lapse camera to record continuous embryonic development. With a capacity to monitor up to 12 embryos at once, the Embryoscope can take photos of each embryo every five to 20 minutes for the entire duration of the incubation period, allowing for comprehensive monitoring of embryo development. Abnormal embryo development can be detected without harming the embryo, allowing the most viable embryos to be selected during in-vitro fertilization.
The Embryoscope is the safest technology developed in the field of ART today to help childless couples achieve their dreams of conceiving a healthy child.

What does Assisted Reproduction Technology mean? ART refers to any technology used to achieve pregnancy by fertilizing the egg and sperm outside the body. The embryo is grown in a fertility lab and then finally transferred into the uterus in a process called in-vitro fertilization. The embryo needs to be incubated in a safe environment with the right concentration of gases and heat. Due to the dynamic nature of the embryo, the process of in-vitro fertilization involves constant study of the embryo to determine whether it is viable for implantation on the uterine wall.

Other techniques available and commonly used for ART include Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and Intracytoplasmic morphologically-selected sperm injection (IMSI).

  • Shockwave therapy uses pulsed sound waves that are applied to the treatment area using a machine. The therapy leads to the creation of new, functioning blood vessels, which greatly increases blood flow. This therapy aims to provide sustained improvement and possible cure for ED. It allows a man to return to a more normal erection. With EDSWT, it has been possible for the first time to establish a rapid, effective and cost effective outpatient therapy, that can be used as often as required without any side-effects. Short term results are extremely encouraging. Treatment Procedure.
